Having been raised in Topeka, growing up in the
Oakland area, attending public schools in Topeka, graduating from Topeka
High School, Washburn University and the Washburn University School of Law
and choosing to make Topeka my home and to raise my children in Topeka, I
am substantially invested in the District Attorney’s office helping to
improve the safety and security of the community, reducing the crime rate
and creating a better environment in which all of us can raise our children
and grandchildren and become more attractive to the business community.

Keeping those goals in mind, I created this web page as
an attempt to better inform the public as to the more serious crimes, or the
more unusual, or those, which may expose the public to some physical or
financial risk.
All of these crimes may not be those most violent in
nature but may be of such community interest or consequence that the District
Attorney’s office would be remiss in not making public disclosure of
them. Upon events occurring which
